Standard Oil Survey – Honest review

I’ve stumbled onto Standard Oil Survey a few times recently when researching various money making opportunities online.

My first impression of this program and website was pretty good. The website looks professional and the sales pitch is rather convincing.

Let’s dig a little deeper into this program and see how it compares to my #1 ranked money making program.

The Standard Oil Survey

The sales video for this program is quite well done. They initially describe themselves as a paid survey company and they talk about different corporations that they’ve performed surveys for.

This gives them some instant credibility to some people because they mention some huge brands like Coka-Cola and KFC.

Personally I’m always really careful when I hear stuff like this because there’s really nothing preventing people from lying about that stuff.

I don’t have any proof that they are lying but I’m just saying that I take it with a grain of salt and I think you should too.

They also mention that they’re a non-profit organisation. This sounds great but I’ve heard a lot of different scams use that same line. So again, I’m not completely turned off yet but I’m a little suspicious.

After talking about the survey they skip to a couple of video testimonials from happy users. The testimonials show people wearing the Standard Oil Survey shirts and they have a giant cheque behind them to show that they’ve made a lot of money from this.

It’s really common for scam companies to hire actors to give fake testimonials for products. After seeing video testimonials for something online I always head over to and look to see if I can find those people’s ads there.

I couldn’t find any of these people on Fiverr. That can mean one of two things….

  1. They are real people telling the truth
  2. They are actors that just aren’t on Fiverr.

So again, I’m not dismissing this as a scam at this point even though the people in the testimonials looked very unatural as though they were reading a memorized script.

How Can You Make Money From This?

Finally the video gets to the part where they tell us how we can make money from this, sort of.

They tell us that after completing the survey we will have free access to their software that can predict whether the price of crude oil is going to go up or down in the near future.

But that’s pretty much all they tell us. To learn more you have to enter in your name and email address which will then bring you to a new page with a new video to watch.

The new video goes into more detail about how we can profit from this.

They tell us that their software pays close attention to the price of crude oil and that anytime there is a big even like war, drone attacks or natural disasters the price of oil is highly effected.

Their software will keep tabs on this stuff and give members the insider information about what and when to trade.

They tell us that their members enjoy an average of 90% winning rates when using their software.

This is the part where this starts to appear a lot more like a binary options scam.

I’ve reviewed a lot of different binary options programs and believe me, there are a lot of scams out there that say they have a software that can predict the outcome and make you rich fast.

The standard oil survey then tells us that their software is actually free which makes people believe that it’s not a scam.

That is also a very common tactic with binary options scams. They give you the free “software” and then they direct you to a trading broker where you have to make a minimum deposit of $250 in order to start trading. Then they receive a commission for referring you.

So now they are starting to appear almost identical to about 15 different binary options scams that I’ve reviewed in the past.

Then the kicker. They finally tell us that although the software is free, you will be required to make a minimum deposit of $250 in order to start trading oil.

So when I read this part I was turned off. They are leading people on by repeating the fact that this software is free and that they are a non-profit organisation and then they don’t tell you until the very end that you will have to pay $250.

This just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I am not saying that this is for sure a scam, but I am strongly advising you to stay away from Standard Oil Survey.

There are just too many red flags that don’t sit right with me. You know the saying, “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck”.

An Alternative

If you are still interested in making some money online I might be able to help you.

Personally I think the best way for beginners to make money online is with affiliate marketing. Basically affiliate marketing means that you refer people to an online store and then you receive a commission if your referrals buy something.

Looks to me like the Standard Oil Survey is actually making their money from affiliate marketing except they are misleading people which I would never condone.

I think the best way to make a long term living from affiliate marketing is by being honest and truly helping people find what they are looking for.

It’s not a get rich quick scheme but it is a legitimate way to make a full-time living and you certainly can get rich from it over time if you learn from the right people.
