is be the boss network a scam

Summary: This is not so much a training program for people looking to make money online but it's more of a directory. It has a large list of different MLM programs that you can join online. If you're dead set on joining an MLM then you might find this helpful but if you just want to make money online you're far better off learning to build a real online business.

Is Be The Boss Network a scam ? I don’t think it’s a complete scam but I don’t like it either. Basically it’s a website that consists of a directory for different MLM opportunities.

They list(in alphabetical order) all sorts of different MLM opportunities, both online and offline. They aren’t exactly saying that they approve of the programs listed or standing by any of them. Instead they just show them to you, almost like a classifieds page.

I don’t think they have strict rules for getting your MLM posted on their directory, probably just fill out the information and your good. I know of a lot of better programs for people looking to make money online.

So for anyone who thinks that a program must be legitimate and reliable just because it’s on their directory, you’re wrong. I know for a fact that a lot of the programs they have listed are scams.

MLM stands for Multi-Level Marketing. If you’re not clear about what it is, here’s Wikipedia’s definition………

So I personally don’t like MLM programs in general. I don’t like the fact that they rely heavily on recruiting. I find that they put so much emphasis on recruiting that they neglect to sell quality products a lot of the time.

Sure there are some good MLM companies, like Avon for example but I do believe those are few and far between. In my experience most MLM companies are so close to being pyramid schemes that it turns me off completely.

One of the companies that BTBN has on it’s list is Empower Network. This is a pretty well known online MLM company that I wrote a review on and I have to say it’s one of the worst programs I’ve reviewed.

One of the annoying things about many MLM companies(including Empower Network) is that they aren’t upfront about their costs. They’ll advertise a certain price and then once you pay it they’ll hit you with an upsell. Often the upsells are huge too. They always make you feel like the more you spend, the more you’ll make.

I hate this way of doing business. Most people who are looking to make money online are on a tight budget which is the whole reason they’re seeking out another income stream. So to try to swoon someone out of a lot of money just to line your own pockets is not something I’m interested in.

I’d much rather make a living helping people whether it be helping them find a product or helping them make money, it doesn’t matter as long as I can do some good.

Be The Boss Network is not an MLM nor is it a scam but it’s also not a reputable website in my opinion. The reason I say that is because they aren’t making any effort to make sure that the programs they list are legitimate.

If they did a better job of making sure that their directory is full of good, reputable programs then I would consider it to be a very useful website. Unfortunately they missed the mark.

What’s In It For Them?

Since it’s free to join Be The Boss Network it made me wonder what’s in it for them. They must want to make money somehow or else it wouldn’t be worth all the work. I can’t imagine they make a killing off advertising either so I signed up for it to get a better grasp of the website.

At first I assumed that they would be affiliates of a lot of the programs they have on their list but I couldn’t be sure about that.

After signing up it became a little more clear what this website was all about. When you give them your information make sure to read the privacy policy.

The privacy policy notes that they will use your information for advertising and to get in touch with you. So they’re obviously selling all sorts of products and this directory is just a way for them to get a targeted list of potential customers.

They know that anyone who signs up for this directory is interested in money making opportunities so they’ll have a list of people who fit their target market perfectly. This is actually a smart(also shady) method for building a list of customers.

Final Thoughts

So if you already know that you want to join an MLM company then this might be a website that you could benefit from.

It’s pretty clear that I don’t like MLM companies and so it’s probably no surprise that I would not recommend going to Be The Boss Network to find ways to make money.

I’ve reviewed a lot of programs that promise to help people make money online and offline so I have a pretty good idea which ones are scams and which ones are legit.

Is Be The Boss Network a scam ? No it’s not, but it isn’t 100% reliable either. I gave it a 50 out of 100 because they don’t assure us that the programs on their list are reliable and they also use members information for advertising.

They did however earn a few of their points just for the sheer amount of companies they have listed. Like I said, if you know you want to join an MLM company then you might find this website useful.

Here are my ratings…..

Is Be The Boss Network A Scam? Here’s My Take On It
  • Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Profit Potential

For anyone who is looking to make money from home or even start an online business, I would strongly recommend this place.  It’s not an MLM. It’s a training program that helps people learn internet marketing.

It’s actually one of the few training programs that offers a free trial and lets you start building your online business before you even pay anything.
