Intro To Swagbucks

If you don’t already know, Swagbucks is an online rewards program. When doing a google search I noticed the most common question that popped up was, “is swagbucks a scam”?

Before I get into what Swagbucks is and how it works I want to first make it clear that Swagbucks is not a scam. Its completely free to sign up and free to use so theres no chance its a scam.

Once you sign up for your free account you can start earning a digital currency called, yep you guessed it, Swagbucks.

Once you’ve earned enough Swagbucks you can then exchange them for giftcards. The most popular choices are Amazon giftcards and the Paypal giftcards. My favorite is the Paypal giftcard because then its as good as cash and you can do as you please with it.

How Do You Earn Rewards??

Great question, I’ll tell you how.

There are multiple different ways you can earn your rewards but the most common and popular way is through the Swagbucks search engine. If you do a search on the Swagbucks search engine you automatically get points.

You can add the Swagbucks tool-bar or install the plugin to make it nice and easy to search on their search engine.

The only thing is that you don’t get points for every search you do, usually you’ll only get rewarded for 3 or 4 searches per day so it is somewhat limited.

Here’s The Other Ways You Can Earn

  • making online purchases
  • playing games
  • taking part in polls or surveys
  • entering in draws or sweepstakes
  • watching videos
  • using the Swagbucks app
  • completing offers

Who Is It For?

world

Well I would say that it could be for anyone but that would be incorrect because Swagbucks is only in a few countries right now.

If you happen to live in one of the countries where Swagbucks operates then you are likely a good candidate for it. Even if you only earn points from searching through their engine you might as well do that because your doing searches anyway.

The only argument some might have against that is that its not the best search engine. Its not Google, its through Bing instead.

So if you would rather use Google and not earn any points then your probably not a good candidate for this.

Training & Tools

There isn’t a whole lot of training because the platform is really simple and easy to use. Most people even with little experience can jump right in a start using it right away.

There is an apple and android app you can download for free so you can use it on the go as well.

Theres a pretty good FAQ section which will answer most of your questions and if you can’t find what your looking for you can type in a question and see if a good answer turns up.

If you still can’t find your answer you can submit an official help request, to access this just go to “Contact Us” and scroll to the bottom. I tried this option and I got a response about 12 hours later.

If you still can’t find the answer your looking for you could try going to their facebook page and posting a question on their wall This should generate some answers from the public as well as some from Swagbucks representatives.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • a large variety of gift cards to choose from
  • its free
  • you can earn points simply by doing something you already do anyway(search engine)
  • simple and easy to use
  • fun to watch your points grow

Cons

  • it takes a long time to earn substantial points
  • you don’t earn points on every search you do
  • when converting to paypal it takes a huge amount of points to get even just $25
  • the search engine isn’t through google

Final Opinion

frequentSo my final opinion on this is a little neutral. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. I like the fact that its an honest way to earn something.

I like the fact that anyone can do it and you can earn for doing things that I already do anyway.

I also like the fact that theres a referral system. The referral system is pretty easy to set up. Once you get set up you can earn points when you refer other people to sign up.

If you refer someone then you’ll earn 10% of whatever they earn. So I suppose if your friends trust your opinion and you can convince them to get on board with this, then you might be able to earn a lot faster.

There is no way anyone could ever make a living on this system because you really just can’t earn that much. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to earn enough.

Its more of a fun thing to do to make a small amount of money and get some free stuff. I personally use it but I don’t even really check on my balance very often because I just know that its not very high.

Since my whole website is based on making a living online, I would have to say this is a little bit of a failure in that department. On the other hand I don’t think its advertised as a way to make a living.

This is nowhere near as good as my number 1 recommendation for making money online, which is of course Wealthy Affiliate.

I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope you learned something from it. If you do end up using Swagbucks please drop me a line in the box below to tell me what you think. If you’ve already tried it then you should drop me a line as well to tell me what you think.

Any feedback or comments are always encouraged using the box below. If your were wondering or if anyone ever asks you, “is swagbucks a scam”? You know exactly what to tell them.

Cheers,

Robert
